12 STEP PROGRAM
Support Groups Through Recovery Opus Health encourages all patients to join some kind of support group or 12-Step Program. Whether recovering from alcoholism, illicit drug use, pharmaceutical drug dependency , or other self-destructive substance addictions, support groups can be one of the most life-changing experiences for a recovering addict. The 12-step program is one of the most widely known and commonly used programs for the treatment of addiction and starts with residential treatment admission . “Step” programs were pioneered by Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and have been adapted for use in the treatment of other addictions as well. We understand not everyone believes in a higher power, nor do all patients find the clarity they need within the 12-Step structure.
